Your Event Should Use Social Media

Use social media at an event to leverage the brand's social media presence.

One tool in the arsenal is a smart phone to distribute the event's messages and or images LIVE via Social Media apps, for example, Facebook, Google+, Flickr, Foursquare, Yelp and event - driven social media networks. This is a fast way to share events or your travels.

Another way is to increase reach is to create content with photgarphy video and apps that increase coverage. Why should you use Social Media!

  • Increases event visibility
  • Generates viral buzz - gets people talking both before, during and after the event
  • Expands your reach - local-based & beyond
  • Free advertising
  • Lowers your marketing costs and media buy
  • Increases your search engine page ranking
  • Info can easily be retweeted
  • Info can easily be cross-posted among social media apps
  • Event can be discovered later by people who had no idea this existed
  • This can build a photo essays with descriptions that everyone can enjoy

In addition, not only should you tweet but you should also leverage Facebook, YouTube, Foursquare and other means, such as blogs and analytics. Basically, an integrated marketing channel is suggested to leverage social media and the web. However, all this is dependent upon your budget, skill-level, resources and time. One lesson learned is, "Bite off what you can chew!"
